When I pulled up next to them in the parking lot with my windows down and Teddy said “is that Bon Iver?” I knew we were in for a good session. We trekked into the Bluff Spring Nature Preserve during glow hour and the weather was that perfect taste of early fall we (by we I mean… me) have been longing for after a hot, hot summer. (Side note: i never knew this place existed until I googled “wild flower fields near me” while searching for the perfect spot in the suburbs for this shoot and it’s… 15 minutes from my house. Facepalm.) We listened to, you guessed it, Bon Iver and some other romantic portrait jams while I documented the love between these two, and if I said “sooo cute” while shooting once I said it 100 times. Abby is an absolute stunner and it’s so obvious how much Teddy adores her. Their love + soft summer light glowing on them made for a gallery of so many favorites that I had to share some of them here. I cannot wait to shoot their wedding next May!
Steven and Alexia’s wedding weekend has been an absolute whirlwind. From the welcome dinner through the reception, we couldn’t have asked for more spectacular venues to document the love between these two lovely humans. While this wedding was quite a long ways for most of us to travel, both the bride and groom have roots here, and witnessing their cultural traditions throughout the weekend was so cool (I wish I could say I learned some Greek over the past four days, but I indeed have not.) They were married in the church the groom’s grandfather helped built. The bride’s yiayia cried as she saw friends she hadn’t seen in over ten years. She also cried alongside the Alexia’s mother as they walked her to meet Steven outside of the church, her bouquet in his hand. It was a beautiful thing to document and be apart of. Their wedding day was a hot one, but we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting. Alexia and Steven, thank you for trusting me to do this job. Wishing you nothing but love and happiness as you start this next chapter of your lives. xo

Jillian and Sage were married in a traditional Jewish ceremony at Mission Hills Country Club in Northbrook, IL. You can tell how loved the two of them are by their family and friends, as I saw many tears being shed during their exchange of vows and an out-pouring of love from their parents and bridal party throughout the day. The couple made time to sneak out during dinner for photos as the sun started to set and it was my favorite part of the day. The night began with an insane amount of people on the dance floor for the Hora, and the dancing only died down as their donut wall was made open for feasting. THE SMELLS WERE SO GOOD (and I am so sad I didn’t grab one before I left!!)
Jilly and Sage — thank you for allowing me to be apart of your special day. Wishing you nothing but the best. xoxo
Kate and Maxx had an intimate, music-inspired wedding at Prairie Street Brewing Co on the Rock River in Rockford, Illinois. Their love of music may have brought them together, but it is apparent that their love is so much deeper than a Phish song (their favorite band.) They shared beautiful hand-written vows, laughter and tears during their ceremony, and the love their family and friends have for them both could be felt through out their entire day. Wishing them nothing but the best as they enter this new chapter of their lives.
Spent the day before Chicago’s April blizzard roaming around town with these two. We started off at Garfield Park Conservatory, made a pit-stop at the 606, and finished with ice cream at Margie’s Candy (the very same spot they had their first date!) We had so much fun, and I cannot wait to shoot their wedding in September.
