For those of you who know me, you know who these two people are.
For those of you who don't know, these are my Grandparents. They are two of the most spectacular people on the planet, and they have been married for almost 64 years (heres the link to their 60th anniversary slideshow; and if you have 25 minutes to spare grab some Kleenex and prepare to both laugh and cry.) The love between them is unlike anything I have ever witnessed in my entire life, and I am so grateful to be surrounded by such tangible love whenever I am with them.
They live in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, and we don't get to see them as often as we would like, so whenever we do we cherish every single moment. Grandma has been battling cancer on and off for the past two years, but has been so resilient, and is currently finishing up a round of chemo. Papa is a cancer survivor himself, but diligently takes care of her and has even picked up some new cooking skills (under Grandma's instructions, of course.) They truly are the most inspiring people in my life, and as you can see in these photos, they still act like a couple of teenagers in love.
We were able to take a family road trip to visit this weekend for Easter, and while I initially had wanted to do an elaborate vow-renewal type shoot, we realized it would be a lot easier to shoot a few candids in my Aunt and Uncle's backyard. Below are a few of the family-agreed-upon favorites.
