After a couple of reschedules due to inclement weather, I finally was able to meet Marissa and Jon on what was likely one of our last warm fall days of 2019. We walked a little ways into Carl R. Hansen Woods in Hoffman Estates, and I think it’s safe to say we caught the peak of color change with those beautiful trees. Although they caught me the morning after a long, rainy wedding, Marissa and Jon were as laid back and chill as I am and we instantly hit it off. I cannnot wait for their wedding next October.
Spent a lovely fall afternoon with Sarah and David a few weeks ago and absolutely loved getting to know both of them/discovering we share a love for donuts (David proposed with a massive one from Firecakes and I instantly became a big fan.) We met in the Loop at the start of glow hour and made our way over to Olive Park for some perfect skyline shots. I cannot wait for their spring wedding (and donut wall) at the Morton Arboretum in 2020!

I’m behind on my blogging, but as my season starts to wrap up I’m going to start sharing more here, so I figured I would start with this awesome proposal I shot a few months back.
Farhan had every single detail of this beautiful afternoon planned out perfectly, and took Sukaina completely by surprise. He had contacted her favorite gallery, Gruen Galleries in River North, and arranged for her ring to be mounted on a shelf near some of her favorite art. After he proposed, we told her that we were going to take some photos at the Lincoln Park Zoo (he even bought a few dresses for her to change into… like AHEM ALL MEN BE MORE LIKE THIS), but what she didn’t know was that all of her closest friends had flown in from around the country to celebrate with them. *cue tears*
After all the hugs and happy tears, we did get to sneak off for a few photos, which I adore. These two are so damn cute and I’m so happy Farhan asked me to document these special moments for them. Check em out below.
Farhan and Sukaina — congrats again! Thanks for letting me be apart of this special day.

I met Kelsey when she was a freshman and I was a junior in high school. We became good friends playing varsity softball together for two seasons, and a few years after I graduated and went to U of I, Kelsey followed suit and we’d occasionally bump into each other around campus. I don’t think I’d seen or heard from Kels since I graduated college, and I was so excited when her and Anthony reached out to me last year to shoot their wedding. It was a chilly one, but we braved the windy fall weather for a cute outdoor ceremony at White Pines in Bensenville, IL, and finished right in time for some perfect glow hour bridal pics on the golf course. These two are beyond sweet, and it was so much fun spending the day with them and their families. Wishing you guys nothing but the best xoxo

These guys are the first family I ever photographed in 2013. McKenna was 4 and Gavin was 6. We’ve done five family sessions since then, and it is crazy that I’ve been able to watch these kids grow up through my lens. This time around, and as both of us being residents of Dundee, we decided to incorporate a Dundee staple, Van’s Frozen Custard, into their session (don’t ask me how or why kids enjoy gummy worms in their ice cream, but Gavin did. McKenna opted for the smarter choice: cheesecake. ) We also walked around the riverwalk and found a couple of cute spots for a few Christmas card worthy group shots. After all of the rain we’ve been getting these last few weeks, we really lucked out with some decent weather. I’m so grateful for clients like Nicole and Ryan that have been around since the beginning, and I look forward to continuing to document all of these special moments for them. 💞
